Katapult

A while back Amarok suddenly stored URLs in a different way than before. This opened the door for dynamic collections in Amarok but it also all but killed Katapult, the friendly KDE application launcher. Well, it didn't kill but Katapult couldn't launch songs in Amarok anymore. To be able to hit alt + space and start typing the title of a song before hitting return when Katapult finds it should be a developer's right. Or something like that anyway ...

I did notice that a fix was quickly found, but I failed to notice that it had been implemented in version 0.3.1.4 of Katapult. Thus I've had to live without my precious Amarok-controlling Katapult for quite a while.

Until yesterday. I finally got round to compiling and installing Katapult 3.1.4 and now everything works like a charm! Everything being Katapult's ability to change songs in Amarok of course.

Katapult's official Web site seems to have gone missing in action, but just in case you have been as lazy as I, the source for Katapult 0.3.1.4 can be found over at sourceforge.net.
