Waiting with Ubuntu

As things are slowly starting to fall back into place around here it would be nice if my dead computer fell back into place too. This however is not to be! It would seem that some clever people, and this time I'm not talking about myself, sent the wrong computer to be repaired ...
On a brighter side of complete and utter darkness, the absence of my computer finally prompted me to set up a Linux box made from a case generously donated by Stephen Gardener when he buggered off to New Zealand, RAM and network card borrowed from my nephew, Yrjan, and various bits and pieces I had lying about. In this we managed rather painlessly to install Ubuntu and I must say, I'm not really missing Windows all that much.
Ok, so there are a few things I do miss. I do miss Paint Shop Pro, and until I can get Wine to run the Thule client I will miss that too. The latter shouldn't be all that much of a problem though. The former ... Well, there's always Gimp, which I'm slowly getting to grips with. If my yearning for PSP grows too big I might just run Windows on a virtual machine but that will have to wait until I have a little more power in the box.
So, to sum it all up: I've fallen in love with Ubuntu, Windows is rapidly fading into oblivion although it will still play a minor part, at least for testing purposes, and if I don't get my other machine back soon I just might explode! Not because I miss Windows but because I do miss the added power that machine sports, not to mention the files I may, or may not have backed up somewhere, on various unlabeled CDs ...
